Different Types Of Plastering Jobs We do
✔ Skim coating
– normally we use a multi-finish plaster for this as it can go on a wide range of back grounds freshly stripped room we can use over previously painted backgrounds and can be applied strait onto plaster boards this skim coat is ALWAYS applied using two coats giving the customers a smooth trowels finish ready for decoration.
✔ Bonding
Bonding is used to fill big deep hole for example if a electrician has ran new cables and made some chases bonding can be applied prior to the skim coat to fill in the holes normally dries in a few hours.
✔ Plasterboarding
This is a sheet material that can be used to form a ceiling and also walls it can be cut easily to size sacred to metal or wood and can be stuck to masonry backgrounds using (dot&dab) board adhesive.
✔ Repair works
Can range a lot from a hole in the wall to a chimney breast being removed made good and plastered.
✔ Damp proofing work
We also carry out damp proofing we hack of the affected areas normally a meter up from ground level leave to dry if needed we will supply a dehumidifier to remove moister in the walls. We then apply a strong sand cement waterproof scratch coat then top coat then a skim finish feathered into the walls the new sand cement will let the walls breath.

Bonding Plaster
Bonding Plaster: Bonding is an undercoat plaster. This means it is the first coat, or undercoat to be applied to a new (or to be patched) wall. When it is trowelled off, it is scratched with a nail to give a “key” for the top coat, or finish plaster to adhere to. Bonding plaster has incredible “stickabilty” and does not rely on an absorbent surface to bond to.
Bonding can be applied to really dense concrete blocks or engineering bricks and even concrete itself. These surfaces are where you would use bonding plaster as a scratch coat. Bonding does not need the wall underneath to be scratched or have a mechanical “key” and bonding agents, such as latex SBR adhesive are usually applied to the wall before the bonding plaster itself.

Browning Plaster
Browning Plaster: Browning plaster is also an undercoat plaster for use on more absorbent surfaces.
Browning plaster works much better on surfaces with a mechanical key and you will often see bricklayers “raking out” the joints of block and brick walls which are to have a Browning plaster covering.

Hardwall Plaster
Hardwall Plaster: Hardwall is similar to Browning except that it offers a higher impact resistance and quicker drying surface. It is the most often used undercoat plaster these days, and can be applied to most masonry surfaces.

Multi-Finish Plaster
Multi-Finish Plaster: Thistle multifinish is a top coat plaster which is suitable for a great finish on all the other surfaces. Multifinish is ideal for (indeed, is manufactured for) using as a finishing plaster when there are a variety of backing surfaces to be covered.
All of these different types of plaster we use on a daily basis.
